Bantam Minors draw National attention at National Elite AAA Tournament in Canada!

Bantam Minors go 1-0-3 in preliminary play before falling to top seed in Semi-Finals

This past weekend, Coaches Mark Murphy, Steve Freytag and Jean Tardiff brought their Bantam Minors to the National Elite AAA International Tournament in Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada, near Montreal. The team did everything but disappoint and advanced to the Semi-Finals Sunday morning with a great preliminary round finish.

Coach Murphy and the team went 1-0-3 in the preliminary round, tying the top seeded Cantonniers de Magog Premier AAA team, 3-3, in Game 3 of the highly competitive tournament. The team tied National Saints AAA, 3-3, defeated Bulldogs Guerriers AAA: 3-0, tied the Cantonniers, and lastly tied the Kelowna Rockets AAA squad: 2-2.

The Bantam Minors snagged the #4 Seed (out of 7 teams) to advance to the Semi-Finals and faced a familiar foe, the Cantonniers in the Semi-Finals. A back and forth game ended with the Cantonniers defeating the Bantam Minors: 4-1, after scoring a few late goals.
