Another Wildcat commit to NCAA Division 3, Worcester State: Mitch Purdie

Purdie joins teammates Cody Weaver and Ryan Chauvin at Worcester!

The Northern Vermont Wildcats are thrilled to announce that 1994 birth year Forward, Mitch Purdie, has committed to play NCAA Division 3 Men's Ice Hockey for the Worcester State University Lancers. Purdie will join teammates Ryan Chauvin and Cody Weaver, who have also committed to play for the Lancers for the 2015-16 season.

Last year, Purdie skated for both the Coburg Cougars in the OJHL and the  Caledonia Corvairs in the GOJL in Canada. With the Cougars, Purdie led the team in points and assists and tallied an 11-33-44 scoring line for the year. Before going to Canada to play Junior Hockey last season, Purdie skated for the AHI Fighting Spirit in the NSHL and led the Spirit offensemen in points, and anchored the team to an appearance in the National Championship tounament, which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also captained the Fightning Spirit for the season.

"Mitch is a great player and we couldn't be more happy for him to find a great home at NCAA Division 3, Worcester State. We wish him and his family the best of luck in their college hockey journey," Director of Player Development, Henri Langevin, was quoted saying.
