The Northern Vermont Wildcats are thrilled to announce that long time Wildcat, Kevin O'Neil, scored his first career goal for Yale University, NCAA Division 1, on Friday night at #3 nationally ranked Harved University. O'Neil is a freshman at the prestigious institution and has dressed in all 4 of the teams games so far this season.
Before Yale, O'Neil played in the United States Hockey League (USHL) (one the top Junior hockey leagues in the country). He netted a total of 35 points playing for both the Madison Capitols and Fargo Force in the 2016-17 season. Before the USHL, he captained Albany Academy (prep) and scored a combined 120 points in 63 games in two seasons.
"Kevin is an all around player. He is a great asset to Yale and will have a great career. We are excited for him to have this tremendous opportunity. We were lucky to have Kevin in our program for many years. He assisted us in capturing multiple championships as a program," General Manager Anthony Langevin was quoted saying.
Best of luck for continued success to Kevin and the Bulldogs, this season!
