Bantam Minors defeat #1 seeded Boston Jr. Rangers, 4-1, to win title! The Bantam Minor team captured the Jr. Monarchs AAA Summer Cool Down Tournament, in Hooksett, NH, this past weekend in dominating fashion!
On Friday, the 'Cats slaughtered the NH Jr. Monarchs Premier team: 9-2. Saturday morning featured another dominating performance, this time against the Providence Jr. Friars. Final score: 6-0 'Cats. Saturday night's game featured 6 different goal scorers as the 'Cats prevailed: 8-0 over the New England Stars.
On Sunday, in their last preliminary game, the 'Cats got off track and didn't play together. The Boston Jr. Penguins stole a 5-3 win. The 'Cats finished as the #3 seed in the tournament and next up, the #2 seeded Islanders Hockey Club from Middlesex. Wanting revenge, the 'Cats upset the higher seeded and previously undefeated Islanders: 7-1.
The Championship Game would be a battle between #1 seeded and undefeated: Boston Jr. Rangers and the #3 seeded 'Cats! The 'Cats quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead and would never look back. The Jr. Rangers would score in the beginning of the 3rd period, but the 'Cats would add an empty netter to seal the deal!
Congrats to Coach Anthony, Coach Mike, Coach Henri, and Coach George as well as all of the Bantam Minors on an incredible weekend of hockey! The Bantam Minors finished 1st out of a 12 team field with teams from all over the Northeastern United States! What a great weekend of hockey with a great group of players, coaches, and parents!
